Our Vision To provide accessible, quality health care Our Mission To foster trust and nurture a healthy community Core Values ● One team, one mission. ● Go out of your way to brighten someone’s day. ● Own it, embrace it. ● Care like crazy. ● Motivate, elevate, appreciate. ● Know the way, show the way, ease the way. ● Find joy along the way. MyArborHealth.org Leianne Everett, CEO Dear Neighbors, I hope this annual report provides you with information that you find interesting and valuable. Right off the bat, I can tell you that 2021 was noteworthy at Arbor Health. You might say it was one for the record books. At the top of the accomplishments was Morton Hospital’s achieving Critical Access Hospital accreditation, in addition to our Emergency Department’s Stroke Readiness certification earlier in the year and the Sleep Lab’s renewal as a Center of Excellence and accreditation by the American Association of Sleep Medicine (originally achieved in 2020). All three of these were major accomplishments— and were completed in the middle of a worldwide pandemic, no less. Many hospitals never attempt accreditation of any kind because of the increased expense and managerial workload. However, it was important to us, as accreditation is the outward evidence of quality care. Resilient, diligent and dedicated We are doing our best to meet the expectations of our Mission and Vision and live by our Core Values, which you can see on this page. The accreditations are in line with the second part of the Vision, “providing quality health care,” and decisions made in 2021 are in diligent pursuit of the first part, “providing accessible health care.” Arbor Health committed to opening a Rapid Care Clinic out of the Morton Clinic building as well as a new primary care clinic in Packwood. While the latter is scheduled for later this year and the Rapid Care Clinic opened last month, we will remember 2021 as the turning point in meeting East Lewis County’s accessibility needs. The following pages will detail our other 2021 accomplishments—and there were many. I am immensely proud of our staff. They have shown themselves to be resilient, diligent and dedicated. They work as one team on one mission. And make no mistake—they care for you, our patients, like crazy.
MYARBORHEALTH.ORG 3 A banner year for new providers Victoria Acosta, DO Victoria Acosta, DO, wanted to join a small- to medium-sized medical group in Washington state and found just what she was searching for in Arbor Health’s Mossyrock Clinic and Morton Hospital. Originally from Walla Walla, she is a fan of the outdoor recreation opportunities that East Lewis County offers—hiking, biking, kayaking and more. As much as she was searching for us, she was just what we were looking for to be a provider at the Mossyrock Clinic. Not only does she work in the full scope of family medicine for all ages, she offers a special emphasis on women’s health and pediatrics. It was a real advantage for our community to add another female physician to our medical staff. She has found a real home here. She can be reached for appointments at 360-983-8990. G. Parker Peresko, DPM G. Parker Peresko, DPM, is our first full-time foot and ankle surgeon. This specialty has been a real need for our community. While we have had several visiting specialists through the years, they only saw clinic patients at Arbor Health, so our community members still had to drive out of town for any procedures or surgeries. Dr. Peresko’s medical practice took off turbo-charged upon his arrival in September. His medical practice is inclusive of all podiatric and podiatric surgical needs, from routine nail care and diabetic foot and wound care to bunions and hammertoes as well as ankle/ heel pain and trauma and reconstructive lower extremity surgery. He can be reached for appointments at 360-496-3641. We welcomed five providers in 2021, likely the most ever in a single year Carolyn Price, LICSW In February, Carolyn Price, LICSW, became our first behavioral health specialist in our primary care clinics. She partners with the primary care providers to help our patients with their mental, physical and social health. She rotates her days among our three primary care clinics and can be reached for an appointment by calling: Mossyrock Clinic, 360-983-8990; Morton Clinic, 360-496-5145; Randle Clinic, 360-497-3333. Robert Williams, MD Orthopedics is a specialty that Arbor Health has sought for many years. However, East Lewis County does not have the population to support a full-time orthopedics practice. In 2021, we struck gold when we were introduced to Robert Williams, MD, who has a full-time orthopedics practice in Corpus Christi, Texas. Our connection came through an employee in Dr. Williams’ office who grew up in Eatonville. We have found this relationship to work very well with Dr. Williams coming to Morton three days a month. During those days, he sees his clinic patients at the Morton Clinic and performs orthopedic procedures and surgeries at Morton Hospital. This has been a real benefit to our community. He can be reached for appointments at 360-496-3641. Travis Podbilski, DO We were thrilled to successfully recruit Travis Podbilski, DO, as a primary care physician for Randle Clinic. With his love of outdoor recreation, he fits our community well. In addition to family medicine for all ages, he has a real passion for caring for patients with prediabetes and diabetes and focuses on curing rather than just treating this disease. He especially enjoys working with pediatrics and is also active in sports medicine. In fact, as a certified ImPACT program consultant, he works with the Arbor Health Rehab Services team, which assists our local high schools to develop concussion management programs. Dr. Podbilski can be reached for appointments at 360-497-3333.

ARBOR HEALTH FOUNDATION 521 Adams Ave. Morton, WA 98356 Nonprofit Org. U.S. Postage PAID WallaWalla, WA Permit No. 44 Morton Hospital (inpatient care) “After coming down with COVID and COVID pneumonia, I stayed at home (for) a week hoping to get better. But then I couldn’t breathe one night, so my wife and son drove me to Arbor Health in Morton, and I have to say it literally saved my life. They got me right in and went to work, put me in a room and gave me the attention that is second to none. I was there for about 16 days working on breathing treatments, physical therapy and treatment for after I would get released to go home. I don’t say this lightly when I say if I would’ve gone anywhere else, I might not be alive. So thankful for the whole crew that was very personal, professional and knowledgeable. I cannot ever thank them enough.” Sleep Lab “Lucas was very helpful in talking with me and easing some of my anxiety about this whole thing. Thanks!” Emergency Department “I’d like to say that Arbor Health Morton Hospital and everyone that I had come in contact with was very caring, listened to you and did the best of what they could when they could. They are…better than (others) as far as I’m concerned. I wanted to thank them for all they did for me.” Diagnostic Imaging “I had my mammogram at Arbor Health. Long story short, cancer was diagnosed, followed by a mastectomy, and (I) learned yesterday from my surgeon that I am cancerfree! I am so grateful for the great care I received at Arbor Health! Best place to have a mammogram!” Surgery Department “Things couldn’t get any better unless they were free! My experience from check-in until checkout was outstanding. The staff at Morton Hospital are in a league of their own, and it’s definitely worth my travel time. Thank you for the great care.” Rehabilitation Services “I can’t say enough good things about your Therapy Department. Everyone in that department is so helpful and professional. Chana is wonderful! I will miss our visits. When asked, I will give everyone in therapy the highest recommendation! Thanks so much to all I have dealt with.” Randle Clinic “This is the first time that a doctor has taken the time to actually talk to me and explain many things. I thought it was terrific. I’ve had a very good experience with the new doctor.” Morton Clinic “I’d just like to say that my wife and I have visited Arbor Health Clinic in Morton several times, and we’ve been extremely pleased with the results and the staff.” Mossyrock Clinic “I very much love Arbor Health because they’re really good with me and my child.
