Arbor Health | Arbor Health and Life | Fall 2020

Caring for you in all we do As the leading health care provider in East Lewis County, we have a serious role—and we are living in serious times. The year 2020 has been monumental and unpredictable. Who is to say what is coming around the corner? I certainly would not want to predict it. What I can do is talk about who we are at Arbor Health, our role in this community and our guiding principles. I want to share our new Vision Statement, Mission Statement and Core Values with you. We believe they truly capture why Arbor Health exists—to serve you! Our vision, or goal: To provide quality, accessible healthcare Our mission, or purpose: To foster trust and nurture a healthy community When we created both above statements, we intended them to be short but wide in reach. I think we accomplished that. Our Core Values, or how we live out our mission and vision in our workday, are intended to be lighthearted, engaging and motivating: ● One team, one mission ● Go out of your way to brighten someone’s day ● Own it, embrace it ● Care like crazy ● Motivate, elevate, appreciate ● Know the way, show the way, ease the way ● Find joy along the way As I look upon the Arbor Health team, I see these attributes in the faces and actions of our staff. We truly are one team with one mission, we care like crazy and we are determined to go out of our way to brighten your day—and so very, very much more. Working with physical therapist Mikaela Flowers has been equally successful (though maybe not as dramatic). He’s back to riding his motorcycle (one of his greatest joys), eating normally, and he’s able to turn his head as far as the fusions allow. Through this life event, Gerald has moved from surviving back to thriving. Speaking of Arbor Health Rehabilita- tion Services, Gerald says, “I couldn’t ask for any better help. Christina really cares and Mikaela really cares—everybody in the therapy room really cares. I would recom- mend Morton Hospital to anybody. “I can deal with pain, but I couldn’t deal with the feeding tube,” he says. “Christina saved my life.” ‘She saved my life’ —Continued from front page Welcoming Anthony Fritz, MD board-certified in Internal Medicine Morton Clinic 360-496-5145
